This weekend, Brad and I went downtown to explore a little. Phoenix Public Market has been on my list of to-do's for quite some time now so I couldn't wait to try it. There was an adorable farmer's market on Saturday where we picked up some fresh watermelon and wildflowers. It felt like the perfect summer day. Lately, I have been playing around with this denim vest that I got at H&M a few years ago. It has been sitting in my closet ever since, but now I love the idea of spicing up my maxi's with it.

The temps are in the triple digits here, so sandals are a must. All of these shoes sit at the front of my closet all.summer.long. It is important to have different sandals on hand for different occasions because I find myself changing outfits throughout the day, often times in a rush. I recently got these Splendid wedges and they are soo comfortable (and on major sale right now!) They go with any color, but I constantly find myself reaching for them when I'm wearing white shorts or jeans.

52 Reasons Why I Love You
Brad and I recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary (can't believe how fast the time has gone!), so I knew this was the perfect occasion for this DIY (which was been sitting in my "Crafty" board on Pinterest for quite some time). It was super easy, but a little time consuming...all worth it in the end though! Instead of writing the reasons on each card, I decided to type them because I knew it wouldn't turn out the way I wanted it to with my handwriting. Making labels is really easy when you have a template, because you just have to type each reason, print, and peel them off!
Now comes the fun part...I tried taking the cards to Kinkos so they could just "drill" a hole in the corner so they would all be the same, but of course their drill was broken. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though (thank goodness). All you have to do is pick your place where you want the hole punch and put the card behind your template, so you are essentially punching two cards at once but just using the first card as a guide.

Summer is in full swing here, so of course this list is summer-themed. Beach reads are a definite must for me, especially because I never have enough time to read during the school year. I am reading "Gone Girl" right now and it is so good, such a page-turner (I highly recommend!) "Where we belong" is next on my list though, I've heard good things about it! I have also been living in my floppy hat this summer, too much sun is never good for my face so I keep it protected with this J.Crew floppy hat, this blush color is adorable too though. And of course, bright colors are on my fingers and toes. 'DJ play that song' was just added to my collection and is in constant rotation...

Summer BBQ essentials
There's nothing like a good summer BBQ with good friends, good food, and of course good drinks! I've got you covered from the party essentials to what to wear. Bring it on summer!
I know it's cliché, but watermelon is a must. It's the perfect snack that is not only healthy but great to munch on while the burgers are getting ready. Of course burgers are on the menu, I love the idea of making a slider bar filled with veggies and condiments where guests can create a few sliders of their own. These tequila watermelon popsicles are calling.my.name. Hello perfect dessert for the hot temps!! Killer drinks are also a necessity for a good BBQ. These blueberry mojitos look divine, make sure to have beer on hand for the boys too! And how cute is this set up for corn on the cob? It's perfect for a buffet style.
I love a relaxed "beachy" look for a backyard BBQ. Maxis, denim cutoffs and cute coverups are all on my list. Of course my trusty Sam Edelman sandals made the list as well as the classic Jack Rogers Navajo sandals. You never want to be overdressed, so I say skip wedges but that's just me!
